Training: “Boundary Setting and Non-Verbal Communication: Safety, Limits and Professionalism”

August 3, 2026

As part of the “Cultivating Futures for Migrants” programme, a training session titled “Boundary Setting and Non-Verbal Communication: Safety, Limits and Professionalism” was held on Thursday, 30 July 2026 (12:00–14:00), facilitated by psychologist Ms Marianna Anagnostopoulou, and was addressed to professionals involved in the support of unaccompanied minors.

The training focused on the importance of boundary setting and non-verbal communication within supportive and therapeutic relationships, aiming to strengthen participants’ ability to observe, to recognise the risks of boundary violations at an early stage, and to make effective use of non-verbal cues in their daily work. Particular emphasis was placed on understanding the concept of professional boundaries, on developing skills for managing non-verbal signals, and on highlighting strategies for self-protection and self-care in the workplace.

Through both theoretical presentation and experiential exercises, participants had the opportunity to distinguish between stress, anxiety and burnout, to explore the biopsychosocial model, to become familiar with basic relaxation and self-care techniques, and to design a personal daily self-care plan. The session concluded with an open discussion and the drawing of key conclusions.

The activity proved to be a valuable opportunity for empowerment, reflection and the exchange of experiences, contributing to the enhancement of participants’ professional competence and self-care.
